During this presentation Mr. Barlow will recount a recent incident response effort he led for a Fortune 500 financial trading company based in the US.  He will walk attendees through the process of picking up the pieces after two larger IR teams have made a mess of things and discuss where they failed and why.  He will go on to explain why the attacker was successful, methods used and why the client’s IT team failed to detect these intrusions.

Furthermore he will describe in detail what the client could have done to prevent this incident and the measures they have taken since.

Travis is the Vice President, Advanced Security Services at GoSecure and General Manager, GoSecure Atlantic Inc.

Mr. Barlow has over 16 years of IT security experience developing technology security solutions for a variety of clients, including government, military, education, and fortune 500 companies.  Prior to joining GoSecure, Mr. Barlow worked as the Director of Advanced Threat Response for an IT security firm wherein he designed and established an incident response framework and was responsible for all incident response actions for a global base of clients.

Mr. Barlow has become a leader in his industry, and has been influential in raising IT security awareness and education through founding the annual Atlantic Security Conference (AtlSecCon), Halifax Area Security Klatch (HASK) and participating in various conferences throughout North America both as a speaker and keynote.

Mr. Barlow is very active within his community in creating opportunities for fellow IT professionals to learn both from each other and leaders within the IT security industry.   Always on the cusp of advancements in IT security, Mr. Barlow has proven himself to be an innovative and forward-thinking leader.
