February Webinar
Join us on Thursday, Februrary 20, 2013 at 11:30am for our latest webinar, “Privacy and Security: A true “oxymoron” or misunderstood first cousins???” presented by Fran White.
In this month’s ISACA presentation, I would like to talk about the concept of “Privacy by Design”, or PbD. This is the concept developed by Dr. Ann Cavoukian, the Privacy Commissioner of Ontario, and now widely accepted in countless countries around the world.
The PbD approach considers what is referred to as the “7 Foundational Principles”. This approach builds privacy in, up front. Building privacy in early, in a robust and systematic fashion across all business domains, and doing it right the first time, has proven over time, to be a cost saving approach and strategy across many domains. This approach blends both privacy and security together, from the beginning, in an approach that will seem all but seamless. It allows for the upfront determination of what needs to be protected and how best to do that from a security perspective.
